It’s been a couple of years since I’ve stopped recommending any movies/TV series. A blog-post, a story about the movie/series is all I contribute. And there’s a good reason for it.
A very good film (my favourite infact), which I would rate 8/10 was recommended by me, gets upto 10/10 in his head when I suggest. And when he’s gonna see the film, he’s gonna feel bad as it is only 8. Perhaps perceived it 6/10! So yeah, stopped that. Instead here’s something that you get instead :)
This is Us How do I even being talking about this show. Wow. My goodness, its fiction I know. Its just a story I know. But boy what a magical story it is. What a beautiful story it is. Every episode is filled with such rich dialogues. Such goodness. Man. The story primarily revolves around 2 young folks, who get married, have 3 children, and the lives they have. This is a story that has events ranging from 1970-80s to 2030-40s. And the story is not told in a linear way. Every episode tells what happened in 80s, links them to 2020-s and 30-s. And boy thats beautiful. Every small decision, every small action has such an impact. It feels like you are a observer, who’s not bounded by time. You are being told a story of a family. The people. The events. The actions. The in-actions. The deaths of few members. The birth of new ones. If I were to summarise it in one-line it’d be this. ”This is Us” makes you realise your human nature, and convinces you that its special.
And its odd right. Like we know its fiction. We know its just a story, We know its just a character. Written by a bunch of writers obsessed with writing compelling stories. At the end these folks are selling a story. I get it okay, I get it. But boy, have I learnt. These characters, have taught me so much. The impact Jack Pearson has, is too much to put it in words. Would seem exaggeration ofc, but it’s just really wonderful story man.
The last season, S06 will release on Jan 4th, 2022. I am just done with S04. Would finish up S05 soon. This was written when I had started watching this show, back in 2020.
